One From Far Left Field And Past The Poetry Corner ~ repost

 Gentle Readers,

Today we bring you a bit of poetry that has been hidden for decades like a gem waiting to be found or a snake under a rock, coiled and waiting to strike. A recent discussion of the film The Doors left us wondering if our copy of the Jim Morrison poetry book The Lords and The New Creatures  was a first print or not.  It was on a shelf in the bedroom, so upon retiring last evening, we pulled it from the shelf to find it is a second printing.

However, we did find a few curious things sticking out from inside, one being a poem scribbled on a Chi-Chi’s mexican restaurant receipt and the other was a vitriolic poem, apparently written as an insult to Your Humble Narrator, and judging from the timely reference to Phil Donahue, a TV celebrity from the 1980s, we estimate it was written somewhere around that era.

This is a poem left by an ex. It could be an ex-wife, ex-girlfriend…sounds more like an executioner…anyway, it was fun to fall asleep laughing, really laughing hard.  The poem is quite an effort and since we always are the first to laugh at ourselves, we are more than eager to share. The poet shall remain unknown and un-named but it could be the same character who appeared in Issue 8 of Beatdom, assaulting Your Narrator with a rubber chicken.

Let’s read:

 My Mind is a wasteland

so is my cat’s eye’s. (sic)

Snow drips off my chest

as my nipples are licked.

Fire in my microwave,

frozen in my freezer –

just pull the plug.

Rat poison in my wineglass

better put it in it Mom’s, instead.

Go ahead and try to distract me

you piece of ‘naive crap’ Poet!

Go rub your balls on frosted glass.

No wonder why women lick tweeter

instead of peckers…

less of a distraction.

Slime covers my earlobes,

you are not good enough

to lick off.

My chickens (sic) is better

than a ton of your

‘let’s get in touch with

our feelings’ crap.

Who’s dick do you suck anyway?

Phil Donahue’s?

Well, folks, haha, that is it. Now we can remember why the Humble Narrator married her to begin with…the sense of humour!!!

Why Is The DEA Hawking Marinol for a Non-American Drug Company???

     Gentle Readers,

Sometimes we see things in life that simply do not make sense. Very often, these things only make sense to the people who are putting cash in their pockets as a result of our blindness and confusion. Most often, we are taken for a ride that never ends, in a rickety vehicle known as the Legislature of the United States government.

We pay taxes. We follow rules. We play the game. In the meantime, we put our trust in those individuals whom we believe have our best interests at heart. This is why the war on drugs will never end and medical marijuana will never be a national reality. One reason is apathy but it is hard to ignore the blatant misuse of office by those we put behind the big oak desks we could not afford for ourselves.

As noted in a previous blog, we are lied to since youth about living in ‘one nation…indivisible, with liberty and justice for all’…except it is not for all. It is only for some. It is for the priveleged few. As noted in yet another blog, we elected a president who smokes marijuana himself, lives in a state where he can buy it legally and who gave permission to the goblins at the DEA to over-ride any state laws and sieze and arrest anybody who is sick enough to possess or use the controverisal ‘tempest in a teapot’.

Obama can legally smoke pot in the White House, per local law. Notice how the DEA does not raid the marijuana stores in Washington, DC, or how you never even see or hear about them in the media, as you do with the ones in California. If Obama has anxiety and stress from the duties of office, he should pop a pill, not stoke a bowl, right?

The DEA is supposed to be a US governement agency. Why do they advertise drugs from other countries as a cure to the lame, legislative tactics which are wasting millions of dollars a day…just think of one million dollars and one day to spend it. Don’t you wish somebody would elect you to waste money at such an accelerated rate? We are referring to the billions upon billions of dollars spent every year to stop you –THE VOTER – from enjoying the same rights as those morons you voted for.

Consider the attached. It is disquised as information but it is one of the more well-written advertisements you will see coming out of the marketing world today. It is false, self-serving, possibly illegal for an agency to endorse a product and, best of all – you are paying for it!

Remember that the company which makes Marinol is in Belgium, yet they pay a lobbyist agency to give cash ‘rewards’ to those people you voted for. Do you ever wonder how much money NORML, the make-believe Political Action Commitee which pushes pot legislation uses in its grand efforts to make things legal? Since 2001, the NORML PAC has contributed less than $44,000 to lobbying efforts. Compare this with the cash spent in Washington by marijuana’s biggest opponent, Big Pharma, at the rate ot $127 million in six months.

Based on these figures, provided by the Fed itself, large drug companies have spent 5,772 times the amount that NORML did in the same decade to line the pockets of our corrupt leaders. Naturally, this does not all represent anti-marijuana lobbying but you must admit that any legal herbal cure is a big threat to the bottomline of the pharmceuticals.

One fact that bothers me is that, in 2007, the makers of Marinol gave more to elected officials than NORML did in the whole decade. One fact that bothers me is that the PAC which is influencing our elected officials is spending Belgian money against American money…why does a Belgian drug company want to control our laws, or have a voice in them? The company which manufactures Marinol is, in itself, a PAC. Does that disturb you? It really should, if you care about your own country.

I have belonged to two chapters of NORML. As a member, I made cash donations to both chapters of NORML. I never got a receipt and I never saw any accounting that shows the donation was used by NORML, much less how it was used. More and more, it seems like NORML is the perfect foil for the anti-pot government. They make some noise, don’t spend money and run from police when chased. Either way, they are as ineffectual as a flashlight on the sun. They are nice places to meet people who get high and to act like you are doing something positive but where are the accomplishments? There is no juice.

Anyway, this is what the makers of Marinol got from the DEA for the cash they give them every year. I hope you enjoy reading it and seeing the information that is used to make our decisions for us since we cannot be trusted to have a free will…

“Medical” Marijuana – The Facts

  • Medical marijuana already exists. It’s called Marinol.

  • A pharmaceutical product, Marinol, is widely available through prescription. It comes in the form of a pill and is also being studied by researchers for suitability via other delivery methods, such as an inhaler or patch. The active ingredient of Marinol is synthetic THC, which has been found to relieve the nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy for cancer patients and to assist with loss of appetite with AIDS patients.

  • Unlike smoked marijuana–which contains more than 400 different chemicals, including most of the hazardous chemicals found in tobacco smoke-Marinol has been studied and approved by the medical community and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the nation’s watchdog over unsafe and harmful food and drug products. Since the passage of the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act, any drug that is marketed in the United States must undergo rigorous scientific testing. The approval process mandated by this act ensures that claims of safety and therapeutic value are supported by clinical evidence and keeps unsafe, ineffective and dangerous drugs off the market.

  • There are no FDA-approved medications that are smoked. For one thing, smoking is generally a poor way to deliver medicine. It is difficult to administer safe, regulated dosages of medicines in smoked form. Secondly, the harmful chemicals and carcinogens that are byproducts of smoking create entirely new health problems. There are four times the level of tar in a marijuana cigarette, for example, than in a tobacco cigarette
  • Morphine, for example, has proven to be a medically valuable drug, but the FDA does not endorse the smoking of opium or heroin. Instead, scientists have extracted active ingredients from opium, which are sold as pharmaceutical products like morphine, codeine, hydrocodone or oxycodone. In a similar vein, the FDA has not approved smoking marijuana for medicinal purposes, but has approved the active ingredient-THC-in the form of scientifically regulated Marinol.

  • The DEA helped facilitate the research on Marinol. The National Cancer Institute approached the DEA in the early 1980s regarding their study of THC’s in relieving nausea and vomiting. As a result, the DEA facilitated the registration and provided regulatory support and guidance for the study.

  • The DEA recognizes the importance of listening to science. That’s why the DEA has registered seven research initiatives to continue researching the effects of smoked marijuana as medicine. For example, under one program established by the State of California, researchers are studying the potential use of marijuana and its ingredients on conditions such as multiple sclerosis and pain. At this time, however, neither the medical community nor the scientific community has found sufficient data to conclude that smoked marijuana is the best approach to dealing with these important medical issues.

  • The most comprehensive, scientifically rigorous review of studies of smoked marijuana was conducted by the Institute of Medicine, an organization chartered by the National Academy of Sciences. In a report released in 1999, the Institute did not recommend the use of smoked marijuana, but did conclude that active ingredients in marijuana could be isolated and developed into a variety of pharmaceuticals, such as Marinol.

  • In the meantime, the DEA is working with pain management groups, such as Last Acts, to make sure that those who need access to safe, effective pain medication can get the best medication available.

NO Gays, NO Abortion, NO Medical MJ for PA

Dearest Doomed Fools, we live in Pennsylvania and are about to pay for it bigtime! Who sat through the debate on TV last night between the two assholes currently running for PA Governor? I did and it was so disgusting, I am aghast.

Face it, Pennsylvanians, you have no choice for Governor. They are both two cheeks of the same big ass. For the better part of an hour these two imbeciles argued about nothing but money, the economy and wages. They patted themselves on the backs so much it looked like Zohan had pretzeled them.

Then, in the last five minutes (save it for the last five when everybody has tuned out, right?) the commentator came up with some HUMAN RIGHTS issues in the State. He brought up gay rights, womens’ rights and the right to use marijuana for medical purposes. All three questions took less than a minute to ask and answer. The candidates fell over each other in a race to say ‘no’ to these things.

Pennsylvania – you are not a free State. You have two assholes running on the same platform, the moral majority, good ole boy platform, where they get rich, we get fucked and everybody waits four more years until we can vote them out of office.

Pennsylvania – no matter how you feel about these issues, you should have the right to decide. Your Rights have already been taken away by two turdmongers who are not even in office yet. Well, General Tom Corbett is in office as the Attorny General for the State. He used this office illegally to try to harrass two people who were writing anonymous emails about him. He was sued by the PA ACLU and lost. You want this kind of person to be your Governor? Sure, he is a republican and the democrats screwed everything up and Obama lied and continues to lie to us – but he was a General who thinks he still IS a general. He still wants to give the order to have men killed while he watches from the bunker. He is a heartless wad of shit. I do not write anonymously, so here I am, General! Fuck You!

Look at Dan Onorato and you see the same thing…a control freak. He does not care what the People of this Commonwealth want. He wants what he wants and tough shit if you do not agree. He is NOT the lesser of two evils. They are both arms of the intolerant. They both will do anything to put themselves ahead at the expense of whomever they step on to do it. They cannot be defeated by signs or emails or wishes.

The only way to get rid of these guys is to write in Samuel E Rohrer of Berks County for Governor next week. No parade, no rally, no cute coloured ribbon for your car will solve this problem. Only you, YOU, the voter, can make a difference. Do I think the effort will get Mr. Rohrer elected? I doubt it very much. However, if people saw how they turned their noses up in unison at three major human rights issues facing PA, they would write in without a thought.

If you think you have Rights, please use them. If you do not use them, they go away. Like womens’ rights, the right to decide, the right to do what we want with our own bodies, the right to medicate with a simple weed which would add $Billions to PA coffers – these are not our rights. They have been hi-jacked.

Our Rights, gauranteed by the US and PA Constitutions, have already been taken away. By not doing anything, we give Corbett and Onorato free reign. Maybe not at the same time but greed and hatred do not die easily so do not expect these purveyors of outdated, wrong, useless, hurtful rules to go away.

Unless you use your vote, they will always be there to haunt you and others just like them will come behind, perpetrating the same old myths and garbage.

The same goes for Obama. How any self-respecting American can look in the mirror and vote for Obama after he outright lied to the whole country is beyond comprehension but I am sure a lot of ignorant do-as-they-are-told types will be the first lemmings over the cliff to help Obama.

If you want to watch Obama lie, just go to Youtube. The site is plastered with his con game in action. Look at his 2004 promises to his 2008 denials. They are all there, for now.

Oh, Look! California passed HB19, yay! Oh, Look! Obama’s right hand man just shot that out of the water. Gee, did all those Californians really think that their votes counted???? Do we actually think our vote for Obama will make him change his mind and suddenly reform the pot laws?

They had a rally for Obama in Philadelphia last weekend. A lot of people showed up. It made Obama look powerful and jacked up Sen. Joe Sestak’s sagging ratings a little bit. There were a bunch of protesters there. I am still looking for an article that says that the President acknowledged them. The Secret Service are probably trained to stand in line of any banners so the President does not lose concentration. And, even so, if he did see the signs – the decision against California’s pro-marijuana voters says it all – Suckers!!!! The groups involved in the rally thought they were doing a good thing but this is America 2010, not Mayberry RFD, 1968.

I mean, the rally DID work…it got Obama the attention he wanted. If you are REALLY warped, you can vote for him again, too!

Votes are what count in this country – and the lack of them can count for even more. It is nice to carry banners and wear buttons but that has been going on since the legalization movement started in the 1970s and where have we gotten? No fucking place at all. We have gone backwards in time. In the meantime, the cavemen control us.

Some groups have fundraisers and use the cash to help the community and help sway votes through good acts or contributions to organizations that can actually cause a change. Showing up to see Obama is like supporting the enemy.

It takes people who care. It takes people who actually can make a difference. You can complain about this country and wish for your Rights all you want but if you do not join the write in, you are playing right into the hands of the machine that you claim to hate.

Make your voice be heard this election. Write in for Samuel E. Rohrer, Berks County. The very least it can do is keep a General out of the White House. Generals belong in wars, not ruling us. Onorato sucks, yes, but a large percentage of write in votes will speak to him, saying ‘you will never have a second term,’ as well as sending that same message to the White House.

Write in if you are a freedom-loving Pennsylvanian. If you are in similar situations in other states, do the same thing. Let’s make the Write In Party more powerful than that obnoxious tea-bag party.

The only problem is – it takes you. You have to get up and go to the polls and write in. There will be no limos or tickertape or people taking your picture. Good deeds rarely get noticed by many. Do the right thing, vote with your heart and dump these two losers.

I will get up early so I can write in. I want others to see that there are a growing number of write in votes during the day so they do not just give up in frustration. I hope other write in voters do the same. Corbett and Onorato win on frustration.

Please do something real to protect the Rights of Pennsylvanians and write in against these bastards!
